Last Minute Notes

Dear CPI Registrants,

Are you ready?  The momentum is picking up and we are excited as we anticipate gathering together next week from all over Japan to pray, worship, learn, refocus, renew, network, and share together the needs and opportunities for Gospel-centered church planting movements in Japan and beyond.

This will be one of our largest gatherings ever, so please take note of the following information which will help you with your packing and arrival for CPI (see map of the conference site in the below to understand the instructions below).

Your Arrival Registration will take place in the “CPI Lounge” of the Lake Hotel Saiko.  You will be either lodging here or in the Hotel Kuwarubi (just a handful of people will be in a hotel about five minutes away).  Our volunteer team will be waiting for your arrival outside and may be able to inform you which building you are lodging in if you want to unload first.  Please be sure to register right away!  Most of you arriving on Tuesday/Wednesday will be able to get into your rooms by 1 p.m. (or possibly earlier on Wednesday).

Why CPI?

Why I spent many hours today and yesterday trying to get folks to CPI conference.

I was calling and writing missionaries, Japanese pastors and dendoshi, and seminary students in our circles.  I found 100,000 yen in our team and field budget to help seminary students attend.

I did that because I really believe there will be no better church planting and church development training for those we work with. They will be encouraged in the gospel.  They have great stimulation from the messages, discussions, networking, and training tracks. Today and yesterday these hours calling and writing were some of the most strategic ministry hours I can spend.  And, the money spent on people going some of the most strategic use of funds that we have.

So, for God’s glory and for the sake of lost Japan, who can you invite/ help fund TODAY?

Your partner in the gospel for the sake of lost Japan,

Dan Iverson

CPI More Important Than Ever

Feeling tired? A bit overwhelmed? Feeling under resourced? Thinking that in the midst of relief work happening in Tohoku that the CPI National Conference is less relevant to your ministry this year? We want you to know that every member of the CPI leadership team since 3.11 has been heavily involved in Tohoku in disaster response ministry. We are wrestling too with what ministry means in the “NEW NORMAL.” We debated cancelling the conference, but felt it was way too important this year to cancel.

At a time when many overseas are praying for Japan we want to come together and allow God to touch us and encourage us and send us out as people ready to see a NEW WAVE OF CHURCH PLANTING INITIATIVES across Japan.

We also want you to know that we have RESOURCES there for missionaries, Japanese pastors and lay people interested in church planting multiplication. We have speakers and trainers from the Japanese context to bless us. This year we will be introducing a totally new interactive format. This will better allow us to pursue God’s will for us and Japan.

Along with the normal training is community worship, children’s and youth ministry programs and a resource area. We also have our consultation center that might help us all plan to stay healthy in ministry or get help when we are struggling.
